A New Year !! A New Beginning ?? Or A Continued Change ??

Real estate is the one solid investment available to everyone – when you consider we all need a home, a place to live, to raise our families and find security. But for many home owners, the next step can be investing in a second property to build equity and wealth by renting it to others. Having someone else pay the mortgage or you is a wonderful way to educate your children or provide for your retirement.
It’s important to know there is a right and wrong way to approach investment real estate.
I met new clients yesterday .. a really nice couple that have been working really hard and have been able to get themselves into the position of investigating real estate as an investment to build wealth and security.
This blog thread will follow the process … and it is a process … of how it works from our first meeting, to figuring out budgets, what kind of property works best , looking at properties – running the numbers – and then the offer / buying time.
It’ll be exciting for this family and hopefully helpful to you .. so stop back !!!

About 12 years ago – the spring of 2000 – I built and launched my first real estate web site. We were being told the World Wide Web was going to change things – old business models would fall by the way side, bricks and mortar stores would be replaced with on line virtual places of business.

He had never bought or sold a home, had never invested in commercial real estate and in fact was still living in the family home (basement) with his mom.
At the end of the day it was clear that he had created a very attractive, technically correct site that was a complete bust as a lead generator for a real estate agent. I had to make a change /….. the question was…. Read more…
